About Us

The Teenager's Book Club is a place to find a good book to read. You know how hard it is to find a good book. Well, all the books on the sight are books I've read and or reading. Some are good and others are not so good. My friends have also read most of the books. That's why I decided to start a book club. Because at my school we share books, well not literally share them, but one person will read a book and if it's good they will tell someone else to read it. That is basically the goal of this Book Club.

Breaking Dawn

Ok so the final book in the Twilight series. It was not what I expected it to be. I mean if you have any ideas of what you think this book is going to be about then you're wrong. I was totally surprised. Personally this wasn't as good as the other three books. It just seemed different for some reason. The ending was good though and if it wasn't for the ending I would have been supremely ticked off. It was a little strange in some parts, but good in others. Jacob was hilarious! His sense of humor is awesome. I really like his portion of the book. In a way it was good that the series ended, but then again I'm a little disappointed.

Review/Description
It might seem redundant to dismiss the fourth and final Twilight novel as escapist fantasy—but how else could anyone look at a romance about an ordinary, even clumsy teenager torn between a vampire and a werewolf, both of whom are willing to sacrifice their happiness for hers? Flaws and all, however, Meyer’s first three novels touched on something powerful in their weird refraction of our culture’s paradoxical messages about sex and sexuality. The conclusion is much thinner, despite its interminable length. Everygirl Bella achieves her wishes quickly (marriage and sex, in that order, are two, and becoming an immortal is another), and once she becomes a vampire it’s almost impossible to identify with her. But that’s not the main problem. Essentially, everyone gets everything they want, even if their desires necessitate an about-face in characterization or the messy introduction of some back story. Nobody has to renounce anything or suffer more than temporarily—in other words, grandeur is out. This isn’t about happy endings; it’s about gratification.

Truth About Forever

Ok so I have read all of Sarah Dessens Books except for one. This book tied with Just Listen as one of my favorites. It had a good story and was interesting. I really liked the main guy in the story. It was a romance sort of book much like the others. Macy was all about perfection, until she meets the Wish crew who love imperfections. It really holds the point that everything happens for a reason and a little chaos never hurt anyone. I recommend this book to anyone.

Review/Description
Sixteen-year-old Macy Queen is looking forward to a long, boring summer. Her boyfriend is going away. She’s stuck with a dull-asdishwater job at the library. And she’ll spend all of her free time studying for the SATs or grieving silently with her mother over her father’s recent unexpected death. But everything changes when Macy is corralled into helping out at one of her mother’s open house events, and she meets the chaotic Wish Catering crew. Before long, Macy joins the Wish team. She loves everything about the work and the people. But the best thing about Wish is Wes—artistic, insightful, and understanding Wes—who gets Macy to look at life in a whole new way, and really start living it….

Dreamland

Dreamlnad actually surprised me by being pretty good. It reminds me alot of Breathing Underwater which was also a book about a controlling and abusive realtionship. Except Dreamland was about the victim of the abuse instead of the one being abusive. It helps you undestand what someone goes through and what it does to them emotionally and physically. The girl still loved the guy even after he hurt her. She couldn't see how this awesesome guy could be so mean. Throughout most of the book she talked about how she felt she was underwater, not really there (which again reminds me of Breathing Underwater). In the end though she goes to rehab, after she conseaved a drug problem, and makes her way to the surface.

Review/Description
After her older sister runs away, sixteen-year-old Caitlin decides that she needs to make a major change in her own life and begins an abusive relationship with a boy who is mysterious, brilliant, and dangerous. Rogerson Biscoe, with his green eyes and dark curly hair, is absolutely seductive. Before long, sixteen-year-old Caitlin finds herself under his spell. And when he starts to abuse her, she finds she's in too deep to get herself out...

Someone Like You

This book was pretty good. It wasn't really what I was expecting. Friendship Played a main role in this book. And how friends are there with you through everything, good times and bad. In theis book the times are mostly bad. Someone Like You and That Summer were the basics for the movie How to Deal starring Mandy Moore. Personally I think the movie had a better story than both the books.

That Summer

This book wasn't reallyy interesting. Not much happened except that the main character stopped taking crap from everyone and became more herself. I wasn't impressed with it at all. It was one of the bokos that the movie How To Deal was based on. It ended up not being romantic at all which disappointed me .You might read it if your bored but besides that there isn't much point.

The Host

ok I have one thing to say this book was.....Extemely Awesome! Almost close to Twilight which of course is understandable since it was a Stephenie Meyer book also. I startewd this book thinking how awful it was going to be since I didn't understand anything going on until after the first hundred pages. So if your confused don't give up it gets better. The characters remind me of some of the Twilight people especially Jamie he reminds me of Jacob. This book had me crying and laughing because of Wanderer, I really liked her. I definetely recommend that you read this book.

Review/Description

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed.Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves-Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.

Fell

Ok this book was alot better than the first one in my opinion. It was the sequel to the book The Sight. It ened alot better as well. It finished off where the first book left off and tied up most of the loose ends. It left open the future for Fell and it least it gave him a happy future. This book was more involved with humans and a human girl (Alina) was one of the main characters. I liked her alot along with Catalin her somewhat boyfriend. It really made the impact if humans in the world a big issue.

Review/Description
The sequel to The Sight (2002) is another mesmerizing page-turner set in Transylvania, in which the author again draws on old legends and tales, including those about Baba Yaga and Dracula. Fell, the black wolf who wanders without a pack, and Alina, a 15-year-old human, are both gifted with the Sight, which enables them to communicate, and both haunted by frightening visions, dreams, and inner demons. The companions join forces to fulfill a prophecy indicating that Alina willrescue nature itself from doom. Their trek is fraught with perils introduced by the evil Lord Vladeran, who tried to have Alina killed asa very little girl and has recently learned that she still lives. Vladeran's arsenal includes the spirit of the cunning wolf Morgra, called up to exert dark powers over Fell. Despite some minor discrepancies and an ending that feels way too pat, this book will be deemed worth the trip by returning readers as well as some newcomers, who will find sufficient back story to illuminate this adventure and to pique interest in the earlier one.
